Fall SE Ohio Cruise 10/11 - 10/13 2013 |
I didn't think we could top last year but we all had more fun over two beautiful fall days and smooth winding roads, all thanks to Rick and Teresa Wiles!
The final count was 54 Corvettes from several of the local clubs along with a few that were not even members!
A few of the CCA members started the journey on Friday from Mentor to the Amish Country Restaurant for lunch. Then continued to Zanesvile over a few warm up roads.
On Saturday morming we started our cruise at approximately 9:30 am and didn't get back until dusk. Right off the bat Rick prepared everyone with a brief morning meeting followed by "start your engines", and away we went.
We had a few planned stops at two rest areas and a fantastic all-you-could-eat-lunch at Quinets Court Restaurant!
We found that these events with so many cars, (over a mile in length), must have some guidelines and good blockers. Our thanks to Jim and Beth Knapp, and Ted and Linda Venneli, Buck and Cynthia Kelly, Mike and Cheryl Getzy, and my wife Pat and yours truly.
Some of the other drivers were amazed that this went off so well. We received several thanks already. They said they tried a similar event and couldn't even get out of the first parking lot!
That seems to be the main reason our club is doing so well, teamwork and great comradery.
With some help from Mike Bracanovic, I ended up with 312 photos! (Thanks again for the Huddle's Nikon). Please stay tuned for the videos! They take much longer to edit and upload. But I wanted to get these photos posted.
And as last year, the smiles on the drivers were proof of the fun we all had!
