Celebrates Party - 01/28/17 |
Every year this get together to celebrate our club's birthday is simply a great way to kick off the new year with some fun!
This time our host was the LaVera Party Center on Route 6 in Willoughby Hills. The food was great and the help was genuine.
After a few beverages we all were shared some fun discussions typically not about our love for the Corvette, but more so about our home lives and experiences.
Of course a few words of politics had to enter in with our newly elected President, accompanied by our own political changes in our club.
We enjoyed a really good dinner followed by several awards and acknowledgements for assistance and volunteer work. All truly appreciated by everyone. Our club would not survive without these important people!
Then on to some hilarious activities provided by our game show hosts, the Dimmocks! The table side search for a Corvette in a bag was fun and ended with a great prize for the entire table!
The next challenge was a team effort that put the women against the men to see who could race their tiny Corvettes across what seemed like miles of Styrofoam roads! Judging by the screams, everyone had fun! Finally, after a few dropped cars, the men were victorious! (I think because none of them stopped for directions!!!)
Then on to the music provided by Fred and David Starr's vault of tunes, and as always, we remembered our past friend that donated the sound system, Ted Huddle.
The evening concluded with a wonderful surprise announcement! Gary and Sue Maddle decided to accept the position of Activities Directors and already announced some plans for some future activities!
Our sincere thanks for Sue and Gary and for Cheryl Getzy, Jeanine Williams, Denise Kaehler, and the others that helped to make our Celebrations yet another success!
